Day 2

After breakfast, your safari guide will meet you at your accommodations for the drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet remarkably diverse park located about 120 km west of Arusha. Dominated by its namesake shallow salt lake, the park’s waters rise and fall with the seasons, attracting thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your game drive, you may spot monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, with luck, lions lounging in the trees. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s largest, boasts a variety of landscapes—from grassy plains and swamps to lakes, savannahs, and rugged hills. Today is fully dedicated to game drives in Serengeti National Park, a world-renowned sanctuary teeming with wildlife. You’ll encounter impalas, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles, but the park is most famous for the spectacular migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. Their movement follows the seasonal rains, shifting from the northern woodlands and hills to the southern grassy plains in November and December and returning north during the long rains from April to June. After a hearty breakfast, embark on an exhilarating drive down the winding track into Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage site, formed millions of years ago, plunges 610 meters deep and spans roughly 260 square kilometers. Home to around 25,000 animals, it offers some of the best game viewing in Tanzania. In minutes, you may spot wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and over 500 bird species. With a touch of luck, you could even glimpse the rare black rhino hidden in the grass.

Following lunch, ascend the crater’s steep walls and transfer to your carefully selected mid-range lodge in Karatu. Karatu to Tarangire

After breakfast, embark on the final leg of your safari as you drive to Tarangire National Park, famed for its impressive elephant herds. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, take in the park’s seasonal swamps, savannahs, and the meandering Tarangire River, keeping an eye out for zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and giraffes.
