Your coastal getaway begins with a pick-up from your hotel or place of residence in Nairobi and transfer to the SGR terminus for your morning train to Mombasa. Enjoy a comfortable and scenic journey aboard the Madaraka Express as you pass through Kenya’s diverse landscapes, including views of Tsavo National Park where wildlife sightings are sometimes possible. Upon arrival at the Mombasa Terminus, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Diani Beach via the Likoni Ferry (or Dongo Kundu bypass depending on traffic conditions). After an early breakfast, depart for a memorable full-day excursion to Wasini Island. You will be transferred to Shimoni village, a historic coastal settlement, where your adventure begins. Board a traditional dhow and sail through the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, enjoying the refreshing sea breeze and scenic coastal views. Keep an eye out for playful dolphins that are often spotted in these waters. Upon arrival at Wasini Island, enjoy a guided walk through the local village, where you will experience Swahili culture and daily life. Visit the coral gardens and learn about the island’s unique ecosystem and history. Later, indulge in a delicious Swahili seafood lunch featuring fresh fish, coconut rice, and local delicacies, served in a scenic setting.
