Lake Victoria & Shoebill by a Canoe
Lake Victoria & Shoebill by a Canoe
Your adventure kicks off with a warm welcome from your private guide at the airport or your hotel. We’ll go straight to the shores of Lake Victoria for a unique expedition into the Mabamba Swamp. To reach the heart of the wetlands, you’ll start on a motorboat before switching to a traditional community canoe, expertly navigated through narrow channels to find the legendary shoebill stork. Seeing this prehistoric, "dinosaur-like" bird in its natural habitat is a true bucket-list moment for any nature lover.
Once back on land, you’ll settle into a ruggedly comfortable safari Land Cruiser—perfectly outfitted for the road and even equipped with tablets and movies for a relaxed transit. The day’s journey brings you to Uganda’s exclusive rhino sanctuary. After checking into your lodge, keep your camera ready; it’s not uncommon for rhinos to wander right past your doorstep, offering an incredible, up-close welcome to the African wilderness as you unwind for the evening.

Rhino Trekking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Drive to Murchison Falls NP
Rhino Trekking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Drive to Murchison Falls NP
You’ll start the day with something pretty special—tracking rhinos on foot. Following the historic reintroductions in Kidepo Valley and Ajai wildlife reserve, this is now one of the few places in Uganda where you can see them roaming free again. There’s nothing quite like the rush of walking through the bush with expert rangers to find these massive, endangered giants grazing just a few yards away.
After the trek, we’ll hit the road and head north toward Murchison Falls, the country’s oldest and largest park. The safari basically starts the moment we pass the gates; keep your camera handy because you’ll likely spot giraffes, elephants, and antelope wandering the savannah long before we even pull up to the lodge.

Morning Game Drive and River Nile Experience at Murchison Falls National Park
Morning Game Drive and River Nile Experience at Murchison Falls National Park
Early start this morning for a game drive to see if we can find the rest of the Big Five—lions, leopards, elephants, and buffalo. The variety of wildlife here is incredible, so you’ll likely cross paths with towers of giraffes, herds of Uganda kob, and maybe even a few hyenas or warthogs darting through the grass.
After lunch, we’re heading out on the water. We'll boat up the Nile—the longest river on earth—right to the foot of Murchison Falls. It’s the most powerful waterfall you'll ever see, where the entire river gets squeezed through a tiny 7-meter gap before crashing down. Keep your camera ready on the way up; the riverbanks are usually packed with hippos, massive crocs, and all sorts of colorful birds like fish eagles and kingfishers.

Morning Game Drive & The Dramatic Top of the Falls Hike
Morning Game Drive & The Dramatic Top of the Falls Hike
We’ll head out for one last loop through Murchison this morning. The early hours are the best time to catch hyenas before they go into hiding, so keep a lookout as we make our way through the park.
Before we leave, we’re stopping at the "Top of the Falls." Standing right at the edge where the Nile squeezes through that tiny 8-meter gap is a total rush—the sound and the spray are just massive. After that, we’ll start the drive south toward Kibale. The views change pretty quickly as the flat savanna turns into rolling green hills covered in tea plantations. Once we pull into the lodge, the rest of the day is yours to just relax and recharge for the activities tomorrow.

Kibale National Park Experience
Kibale National Park Experience
Today is all about choosing your own adventure around Kibale, and there are a few great ways to spend the morning:
Visit a local vanilla plantation: You can head into the gardens to see exactly how one of the world’s most famous flavors is grown and processed. It’s a hands-on experience where you’ll even get to plant your own vine.
Wander through Bigodi Wetland sanctuary : This is a cool, community-led walk that’s about way more than just nature. You’ll get to see how the locals make traditional coffee, use forest plants for medicine, and—my personal favorite—how they brew banana beer and gin.
Hike the Crater Lakes: If you’re up for some views, you can trek through the hills to find these stunning volcanic lakes tucked into the greenery. It’s a great way to stretch your legs and get some incredible photos.
