Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide from Naleyo Tours and Travel. Depending on your arrival time, you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a powerful and moving tribute that offers insight into Rwanda’s history.

Afterward, you will embark on a scenic cross-border journey into Uganda, heading toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes you through rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and beautiful countryside often referred to as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off on your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience.

The trek can take between 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once found, you will spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and reflection on this extraordinary encounter.

Day 3

After a relaxed breakfast, you will depart Bwindi and begin your scenic journey toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, traveling through the remote and wildlife-rich Ishasha Sector. This region is famously known for its rare tree-climbing lions, often spotted resting lazily on the branches of fig trees—a unique behavior seen in only a few places in Africa.

As you drive through this vast savannah landscape, you’ll enjoy an en-route game drive, giving you opportunities to spot elephants, topis, buffaloes, and various bird species. The changing scenery—from dense rainforest to open plains—offers a beautiful contrast and showcases Uganda’s incredible diversity.

You will start your day early with a sunrise game drive in the Kasenyi plains, one of the most rewarding wildlife areas in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The cool morning hours offer the best chances to spot predators such as lions and leopards, as well as large herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and warthogs grazing across the golden savannah.

You will have insights into animal behavior, ecosystems, and the park’s unique biodiversity, making the experience both exciting and informative.

After returning to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation, you will head out for an unforgettable boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is renowned for having one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa. After breakfast, you will depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and journey north toward Kibale Forest National Park, often referred to as the “Primate Capital of the World.” The drive is incredibly scenic, taking you through lush countryside dotted with traditional homesteads, rolling hills, and expansive tea plantations.

As you approach Kibale, the landscape becomes increasingly green and forested, signaling your entry into one of Africa’s most important tropical forests. This region is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys.

You will arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, where you can relax and soak in the tranquil forest atmosphere. Depending on your arrival time, you may opt for a guided nature walk or simply unwind as you prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee trekking adventure.

After an early breakfast, you will head to Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before setting off on your chimpanzee trekking experience. Walking through the dense forest, guided by expert trackers, you will listen for the calls and movements of chimpanzees as you search for them in their natural habitat.

Once located, you will spend time observing their fascinating behaviors—feeding, grooming, playing, and communicating—offering a truly intimate wildlife encounter. Along the way, you may also encounter other primates, forest birds, and unique plant species.

After the trek and lunch, you will begin your journey toward Murchison Falls National Park. This is a longer but rewarding drive, offering glimpses of Uganda’s rural life and ever-changing landscapes. You will arrive in the evening and settle into your lodge for dinner and rest.

You will rise early for a morning game drive on the northern bank of Murchison Falls National Park, the best area for wildlife viewing. The vast savannah is home to giraffes, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hartebeests, and oribis, and each game drive offers a unique and unpredictable experience.

Your guide will navigate through different tracks in search of wildlife while sharing fascinating insights about the park’s ecosystem.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a memorable boat cruise along the Nile River toward the base of the mighty Murchison Falls. Along the way, you will encounter large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, and elephants cooling off by the water.

After breakfast, you will begin your journey back toward Entebbe, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot.

Accompanied by a ranger, you will walk through the sanctuary in search of these magnificent animals, learning about conservation efforts and the reintroduction of rhinos into Uganda’s ecosystems. This experience completes your Big Five sightings in Uganda.

Afterward, you will have lunch before continuing to Entebbe, arriving in time for your departure. As your journey comes to an end, you will carry with you unforgettable memories of Uganda’s wildlife, landscapes, and warm hospitality.
