Day 1

You will be picked up early in the morning and begin your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park, one of the most iconic destinations in Kenya. The drive takes you across the equator and into the southern part of the Rift Valley, where the famous Lake Nakuru is located. This alkaline lake is internationally renowned for its breathtaking birdlife and is often regarded as one of Africa’s natural wonders due to its unique ecosystem and scenic beauty.

Lake Nakuru is especially famous for its large flocks of flamingos, which at times gather in such numbers that they form a brilliant pink band along the lake’s shoreline, creating a truly spectacular sight. Beyond birdlife, the park also serves as a protected rhino sanctuary, supporting both black and white rhinos that thrive within its secure environment. Other wildlife such as buffalo, giraffes, and various antelope species can also be found throughout the park.

Day 2

Masai Mara National Reserve

You will begin the day with an early morning departure to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. This iconic safari destination remains one of the few places in Africa where wildlife continues to thrive in vast numbers across open plains, largely undisturbed by modern development. As part of the greater Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is especially renowned for the annual Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras move across the landscape, closely followed by predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

Upon arrival, you will proceed to your lodge or camp in time for lunch, where you can relax and prepare for the afternoon adventure. Later, you will head out for an exciting game drive across the rolling savannah, offering opportunities to spot the Big Five and many other wildlife species in their natural habitat. The open plains, scattered acacia trees, and dramatic skies make for unforgettable scenery and photography.

Day 3-4

After breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, allowing you to explore the reserve from morning until late afternoon. This remarkable wildlife area is well known for its iconic black-maned lions and rich concentration of resident animals. It is also one of the few destinations where visitors can encounter the Big Five within a single morning drive, making it a truly rewarding safari experience.

Cheetahs are frequently seen here and are often unusually relaxed around safari vehicles. In some cases, they may rest in the shade beneath cars or even climb onto them for a better vantage point while scanning the plains for prey. The reserve is also a paradise for bird lovers, with nearly 500 recorded species.

Day 5

From Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park

From Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park

On this day, you will depart from the Masai Mara and journey toward the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, crossing the border at Isebania. The transfer is a full-day experience, offering scenic views and wildlife encounters along the way. In the morning, you will enjoy a game drive through the Masai Mara as you exit the reserve, taking in the final sights of its rich wildlife and sweeping savannahs.

After completing border formalities and continuing your journey into Tanzania, the adventure resumes with another game drive as you enter the Serengeti. The vast open plains gradually unfold, revealing one of Africa’s most celebrated ecosystems, home to abundant wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras.

In the afternoon, you will continue your game drive en route to your tented camp, arriving in time to relax and settle in after a long but rewarding travel day.

Day 6-7

The world-famous Serengeti National Park is best known for the spectacular Great Migration, one of the most impressive wildlife movements on earth. Game drives through this incredible park are truly unforgettable, especially as you pass through the scenic crater highlands and pause at viewpoints overlooking the vast landscape below. From there, the terrain opens into the endless plains of the Serengeti, whose name in Kiswahili means “endless plains,” perfectly describing its sweeping horizons.

It is home to over two million large mammals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles.

On the second day, after breakfast, you will enjoy a full-day safari with both morning and afternoon game drives, maximizing wildlife viewing opportunities. Optional activities include a visit to Olduvai Gorge, a significant archaeological site, or a breathtaking hot air balloon safari over the plains.

Day 8

You will begin the day with an early morning safari before breakfast, when wildlife is most active and the chances of spotting predators and grazing animals are at their best. This is also the perfect time to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the savannah, as golden light spreads across the landscape. After the game drive, you will return to camp for a relaxed brunch before continuing your journey to Ngorongoro.

The crater floor covers roughly 102 square miles and is often described as a natural sanctuary, hosting an incredible variety of wildlife. Nearly every species found in East Africa can be seen here, including the rare black rhino. It is also known for having one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the world.

Inside the crater, you will find rivers, swamps, forests, and open grasslands, all supporting a rich ecosystem. From above, the wetlands often appear misty and are frequently filled with flamingos. Large elephants with impressive tusks also roam the area.

Very early in the morning, you will descend to the crater floor for a full day of game viewing in one of the most extraordinary wildlife areas on Earth. The Ngorongoro Crater offers an unmatched safari experience, with rich habitats and abundant animal life in a compact, scenic setting. Midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, surrounded by the sounds of nature. In the afternoon, continue with game viewing before beginning your ascent up the steep crater walls and proceeding to Lake Manyara for your overnight stay. Alternatively, you may choose to visit Tarangire National Park instead of Manyara, which is especially recommended between June and September due to excellent wildlife concentrations.

There is also an optional cultural stop at Oldonyo Sambu Maasai Village en route to Manyara or Tarangire, where you can learn about local traditions and way of life.

After breakfast, you will depart and drive across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. This scenic park is known for its striking natural beauty, with lush groundwater forests of fig and mahogany trees that provide habitat for troops of baboons and blue monkeys. It is also widely recognized for its rich birdlife, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts throughout the year.

Lake Manyara is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, hippos, and large troops of primates. The hippo pool is a popular highlight, where these massive animals are often seen gathered together in the water.
