Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
An early morning drive takes you to Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the few remaining places on Earth where wildlife still thrives in large, relatively undisturbed numbers as it once did across Africa’s plains and forests. As the northern extension of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is renowned for the spectacular seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their accompanying predators. Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is renowned for its black-maned lions, abundant resident wildlife, and is one of the few places where the Big Five can often be seen during a single morning drive. Cheetahs here are often remarkably relaxed, sometimes seeking shade beneath safari vehicles, and on occasion even climbing onto roofs for a better view of potential prey. For bird enthusiasts, nearly 500 species have been recorded, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, six species of vultures, eight species of storks, four species of bustards—including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird—and nine species of sunbirds.
