Day 1

Upon arrival, switch to a traditional canoe guided by local experts as you begin your morning shoebill tracking experience. Glide through narrow papyrus channels in search of the iconic Shoebill, while also spotting a rich variety of birdlife including kingfishers, herons, jacanas, and papyrus endemics. The calm morning hours offer the best chances for clear sightings and photography.

After the morning session, head to Mabamba Swamp Hotel for a relaxed lunch, enjoying local cuisine with views of the wetland surroundings. Take time to rest and refresh before heading out again.

In the afternoon, return to the swamp for a second birding and shoebill tracking session, exploring different channels and increasing your chances of more sightings. As the day winds down, begin your return journey by boat, enjoying beautiful sunset views over Lake Victoria.

Arrive back at Nakiwogo Landing Site and transfer to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of a rewarding full-day birding adventure.
