The Park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the Park.

There is nothing like the Serengeti. It is well-known for having expansive, open grasslands that make for great wildlife viewing opportunities. Lake Manyara National Park is a tiny yet varied park. The scale of everything you see here is different. It is both majestic (the Great Rift Escarpment towering over the western limit of Lake Manyara) and compact (this is one of Africa's narrowest parks). A tiny Salt Lake is the park's namesake. Thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and more than 500 other bird species, call it home. It spans a sizable portion of the park and floods and dries with the seasons. In addition to keeping an eye out for the tree-climbing lions, you might spot baboons and elephants in the park's dense evergreen forest.
