Day 1

Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park & Gorilla Guardians Experience

This morning, meet our company representative for a briefing of your safari. Thereafter, transfer to Volcanoes National Park, which is approximately 2.5 hours, enjoying scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills. Upon arrival in Kinigi, check in at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge and have lunch. Later, head to the Gorilla Guardians Village for a cultural experience with ex-hunters who transformed into conservationists. They will showcase interesting Rwandan cultural traditions including music, dance, and the traditional wedding ceremony.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2

Golden monkey trek and transfer to Bwindi

After a restful night, you will wake up a bit early to prepare for the day. Have breakfast at the lodge and head to the park headquarters for a briefing before your golden monkey trek. The trek can take approximately 3 hours. Later, transfer across the Cyanika border to the south of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge, have lunch, and relax.
An optional evening visit to the Batwa community for a cultural experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3

This day starts early with breakfast at your lodge before transferring to the park offices of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing. During the briefing, the park rangers will guide you on trekking etiquette and what to expect during this adventure. Thereafter, set off into the impenetrable rainforest accompanied by ranger guides. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi can last for 3-4 hours or more depending on how far the allocated gorilla family has moved.
Once you encounter the gorillas, you will spend up to one hour observing them and taking photos for the best memories of the once-in-a-lifetime adventure. After the trek, return to the park offices to have your trekking certificates, then set off for Lake Bunyonyi where you will arrive in the evening. Enjoy the stunning views of the lake and later have dinner and rest.

Day 4

After breakfast at the lodge, head out for a guided canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. You will explore some of the islands here, learn about the history and traditional stories attached to them and enjoy the scenic views the surrounding landscapes and the Virunga volcanoes at a distance. The place is also home to a variety of small bird species, making this trip a rewarding experience for bird lovers. You will later on return to the lodge to pick up your luggage and set off for Kigali.
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
