Arrival and Transfer to Musanze

You will be met upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or picked up from your hotel and transferred in a private vehicle to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda’s premier destination for gorilla trekking. En route, enjoy a guided city tour of Kigali, exploring its vibrant markets and scenic hills, with an optional visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi, time permitting. You will arrive in Musanze in the late afternoon, where you will check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Mountain Gorillas Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

Your day begins early with a 6:00 AM departure to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for your scheduled gorilla trekking experience. This remarkable activity is among the most thrilling wildlife encounters in the world. The trek, which may take between two to six hours, is led by an experienced ranger who will provide insights into the park’s rich flora, fauna, and the behavior of the mountain gorillas. Upon locating the gorilla family, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat.

After the trek, you will visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will experience Rwanda’s rich traditions and learn local dances. Following lunch, you will return to Kigali, marking the end of your tour.
