You begin at the National Museum, home to Lucy. You will explore Merkato’s vibrant stalls filled with spices, coffee, and crafts, then enjoy a traditional Ethiopian lunch. You'll visit Entoto Hills for panoramic views, Entoto Maryam Church, and Menelik II’s palace. If time allows, you will stop at the Ethnological Museum. You'll end the day with a traditional coffee ceremony, experiencing Ethiopia’s rich culture.

Fly Addis Ababa - Jinka

You'll fly from Addis Ababa to Jinka early in the morning. Upon arrival, you will drive to the Hamer area near Turmi. You visit Hamer villages and learn about their traditional lifestyle and social structure. You observe daily activities such as farming, herding, and handicrafts. You'll interact with the local community and gain insight into their customs. You'll learn the cultural significance of ceremonies within Hamer society. You will experience the famous Bull Jumping ceremony, an important rite of passage for young Hamer men. Your overnight stay will be at Paradise Lodge.

Drive Turmi – Karo

You'll drive from Turmi toward the Karo area along the scenic Omo River. Enjoy beautiful landscapes and river views along the way. You'll visit Karo villages and meet the Karo people, known for their elaborate body painting and artistic hairstyles. You'll learn about their close relationship with the Omo River and farming traditions. You'll continue the journey to visit the Bena tribes. Drive Turmi – Mursi- Dassanech

You will drive from Turmi to the Dassanech area near the Omo River delta. You will visit the Dassanech people and learn about their semi-nomadic lifestyle. You observe their traditional huts, clothing, and daily survival practices. You'll learn how they adapt to life near the river and border areas. In the afternoon, you drive through remote countryside toward the Mursi area. You will experience the dramatic landscapes of the lower Omo Valley. You'll visit the Mursi tribe and learn about their distinctive lip-plate tradition and cultural identity. The overnight stay will be at Paradise Lodge.

Fly Addis Ababa to Semera and Drive to Hamdella Villages

You begin your adventure with a flight from Addis Ababa to Semera. Upon arrival, you will set off on a scenic drive through the Afar region toward Hamed Ela. Along the way, you will stop at Lake Afdera, a shimmering salt lake with warm, inviting waters perfect for a revitalizing swim. You will enjoy lunch amid the stunning, surreal scenery.
You continue to the remote village of Hamed Ela, your base for exploring the Danakil Depression. In the evening, you will visit the vast salt flats of Lake Asale. Watch the sun dip below the horizon as its golden light reflects off the crystalline ground, an ideal setting to unwind with a drink and take in the breathtaking surroundings. Your overnight stay will be in a camping setup.

Drive Danakil to Erta Ale Volcano

After breakfast, you'll journey to the otherworldly landscapes of Dallol, one of the lowest and hottest places on Earth. You will explore its vivid sulfur springs, colorful mineral deposits, and bubbling hydrothermal fields. You will visit nearby Lake Assal and observe camel caravans carrying salt, an art of an ancient Afar tradition still practiced today. In the afternoon, you drive across lava fields and desert terrain to reach the base of Erta Ale volcano. After an early dinner at the campsite, you begin a one-hour trek under the stars to the summit. At the crater‟s edge, witness the unforgettable spectacle of molten lava glowing in the night a raw and powerful natural phenomenon. Overnight stay: camping.

Drive back to Semera and Fly to Addis Ababa

You'll drive back to Semera and later drive back to Addis Ababa. Early in the morning, you'll have another chance to see the stunning sunrise at the volcano. After the visit, you will return to the base camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you'll start your journey back to Semera. You'll arrive in Semera for a late lunch, followed by a drop-off at the airport back to Addis Ababa. End of your tour.
