Day 4

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls National Park and begin your scenic journey southwest toward Kibale National Park. This is a longer drive, but one richly rewarded with changing landscapes and remarkable scenery along the way.
Travel along the edge of the Albertine Rift, with possible views of Lake Albert, before continuing through rolling countryside toward Fort Portal, famed for its lush tea plantations, crater lake landscapes, and red clay roads. Stop for lunch en route and enjoy the scenic beauty of western Uganda.

After an early breakfast and briefing at the park headquarters, set off into the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of the most biologically diverse forests in Africa and home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
The trek can take anywhere from a few hours to most of the day, as you move through misty trails, thick undergrowth, tangled roots. Guided by expert trackers and rangers, follow signs of gorilla movement until you finally locate a habituated gorilla family.
Once found, spend a precious one hour in their presence—observing their behavior as they feed, groom, play, and interact. Visitors are expected to maintain a respectful distance, watching quietly without disturbance.
After the encounter, trek back through the forest and return to the starting point where you will receive a gorilla trekking certificate, marking your achievement.
