Into the Kalahari Heart (Hwange National Park)
Upon arrival at VFA, we commence a scenic road transfer through the historic Hwange town to the evocative Gwango Heritage Resort. After a revitalising lunch, we head out for an evening game drive on the private estate; as the heat dissipates, the bush comes alive with elephants and buffalo emerging from the teak forests. Second day is a deep, technical immersion into the 14,000-square-kilometre Hwange National Park. This is the theatre of the wild, where life revolves around the pumped waterholes that sustain the park's legendary super herds of elephants. Your full-day exploration traverses vast savannahs and ancient woodlands, tracking part of the Big Five and the rare African wild dog. We enjoy a secluded picnic lunch at a designated picnic site allowing for uninterrupted observation of the social hierarchies and predator-prey dynamics at the water’s edge. Return to camp for a fire-lit dinner, serenaded by the distant rumbles of the night.
