Nairobi to Amboseli – Journey into Elephant Country

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Nairobi at around 7:00 AM.

ou will arrive at your budget camp or lodge in time for lunch, typically around early afternoon. After check-in and a warm meal, you’ll have time to relax and settle into your surroundings, often with views of the plains or distant glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro.

In the late afternoon, you’ll head out for your first game drive inside the park. This is your introduction to Amboseli’s rich ecosystem—expect to see elephants moving in family herds, along with zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and possibly predators such as lions. The open landscape makes wildlife spotting easier and more rewarding.

You’ll return to camp just after sunset for dinner and an overnight stay, with the sounds of the African wilderness in the background.

Full Day Safari in Amboseli

Your day begins early with a wake-up call at dawn, followed by tea or coffee before heading out on a morning game drive. This is the best time to witness wildlife at its most active and to catch clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds.

After the drive, you’ll return to the lodge for a full breakfast and some leisure time. You may choose to relax, enjoy the camp facilities, or take an optional visit to a nearby Maasai village, where you can learn about local traditions and culture.

Following lunch, you’ll embark on another extended game drive in the afternoon. You’ll explore different areas of Amboseli National Park, including swampy regions fed by underground springs from Kilimanjaro.

As the sun sets, the park transforms into a golden landscape, perfect for photography. You’ll return to camp for dinner and your second overnight stay.
