Serengeti national park to Ngorongoro Highlands

Wake up to the sounds of nature and set out for a morning game drive in Central Serengeti, one of the park's most wildlife-rich regions. The cooler hours provide excellent opportunities to witness predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs at their most active, while large herds of herbivores roam the open plains. Depending on the season, you may also encounter part of the Great Migration. After enjoying a picnic lunch in the bush, continue your final game drive as you gradually make your way toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the route, admire changing landscapes from vast savannahs to lush highlands before arriving at your comfortable mid-range lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands or Karatu. After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Africa's most remarkable wildlife destinations. The crater's unique ecosystem supports an extraordinary concentration of animals, offering excellent chances to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, and, with a bit of luck, the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a memorable game drive across the crater floor while your guide explains the area's fascinating geology, wildlife, and conservation efforts. After a picnic lunch in this spectacular setting, ascend from the crater and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
