Early morning departure from Addis Ababa via flight or long scenic drive to northern Ethiopia. Meet your guide and begin the journey from Adigrat into the highlands. Trek through farmland, hills, and rural villages with panoramic mountain views. Enjoy a packed lunch en route and arrive in Seheta village in the afternoon. Experience a traditional coffee ceremony and cultural welcome before overnighting in a community tukul.

Seheta - Gohagot Highland Trek & Church Visit

Trek from Seheta across rugged highland terrain toward Gohagot village. The trail passes terraced fields, rocky ridges, and remote farming communities. Visit a nearby ancient rock-hewn church such as Gohagot Medhane Alem Church and learn about local Orthodox traditions. In the evening, enjoy cultural interaction with villagers including storytelling and traditional music. Overnight in a community guesthouse.

Gohagot - Shimbti Cultural Trek

Overnight in a traditional tukul guesthouse.

Shimbti - Edega Arbi Valley Descent Trek

Edega Arbi - Hawzen (Gheralta Gateway Trek)

Gheralta Rock Churches - Addis Ababa Departure

Full-day exploration of the famous rock-hewn churches of Gheralta. Hike to Abuna Yemata Guh, known for its vertical climb and ancient murals, followed by visits to Mariam Korkor and Daniel Korkor. After exploration, transfer back to Mekelle and continue journey to Addis Ababa, where the tour ends.
