3-Day Masai Mara National Reserve Explorer Trip

Nairobi to Mara National Reserve

Your tour begins with a 7:30 AM pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or airport, followed by a drive to the Masai Mara. The journey takes approximately 5 to 6.5 hours, with a scenic stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint.
You will arrive in the Masai Mara shortly after noon, check in at your lodge or camp, and enjoy a hot lunch. Later, depart for an afternoon game drive across the reserve.

Return to your lodge or camp around 5:30–6:00 PM, freshen up, and enjoy a freshly prepared dinner. Overnight stay at your lodge or camp.

Masai Mara National Reserve

Today’s itinerary is flexible and can be discussed with your guide the evening before to plan accordingly.

You may choose a relaxed breakfast and depart around 9:00 AM for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, returning to the lodge in the late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Alternatively, you can opt for an early 6:00 AM game drive, the best time for wildlife viewing and possible predator activity. Later, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation before heading out again for an afternoon game drive with a packed lunch. A stop will be made at a scenic picnic site before continuing game viewing until the park closes.

Return to the lodge around 6:00 PM for dinner and an overnight stay.
