Day 1

Your journey through Tanzania begins today! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Maasailand Adventure representative and transferred to Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will have the option to enjoy a guided city tour, including visits to the Cultural Heritage Art Gallery, a local market and the Maasai Market, offering a wonderful introduction to the cultural highlights of Arusha.

After settling into your accommodation, you will meet your personal Maasailand Adventure safari guide for a welcome briefing, where you will receive an overview of your itinerary and have the opportunity to ask any questions, ensuring you are ready for the unforgettable safari experience that awaits you.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your safari adventure begins today! After breakfast, your Maasailand Adventure guide will pick you up from your hotel. You will begin a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, which will take approximately 2 hours.

You will explore the park in a pop-up roof vehicle, taking in the seasonal swamps, expansive savannah and the wildlife-rich Tarangire River. Known for its large elephant herds, the park offers great opportunities to observe these magnificent animals congregating by the river. Keep an eye out for giraffes, bushbuck and elands, with various predators such as lions and leopards often in the vicinity. You will find ancient baobab trees throughout the park, as well as a high diversity of bird species.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a picturesque spot with breathtaking views inside the park, followed by more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. In the evening, you will be transferred to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, your journey to the Serengeti begins as you drive through the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending the crater highlands towards the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. The drive may be long but offers scenic landscapes and wildlife sightings along the way. You will stop briefly at Ngorongoro Viewpoint before continuing.

Enjoy a picnic lunch en route, surrounded by the beautiful wilderness scenery. Upon entering the Serengeti, you will begin an afternoon game drive across endless grasslands, home to lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, and many other species.

The Serengeti is world-famous for the Great Migration, and depending on the season, you may witness vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope moving across the plains in search of fresh grazing, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

As the sun sets over the savannah, you will head to your camp for dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti wilderness.

Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

You will spend a second night in Serengeti National Park, allowing for extended game drives and a deeper exploration of this iconic wilderness. With more time on the plains, you will have increased opportunities to witness diverse wildlife, from large predator sightings to vast herds roaming freely across the savannah. As the day comes to an end, you will return to your accommodation, where you can relax, enjoy dinner and take in the atmosphere of the African wilderness.

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive toward the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying spectacular views and wildlife along the way. Encircled by towering volcanic walls, Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking sanctuary teeming with life. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features golden savannahs, lakes, swamps and acacia woodlands. Formed over 2 million years ago after a massive volcanic eruption, it is the world’s largest unbroken caldera.

This incredible area is home to a wide variety of East African wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, which you might be lucky enough to spot grazing in the grasslands. You’ll also find wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and over 500 bird species, from flamingos to hornbills.

You will spend about 5 to 6 hours exploring its many wonders, stopping for a picnic lunch and taking in the truly spectacular landscapes surrounding you. After your adventure, you will head to your accommodation for your final dinner and overnight stay.

After a hearty breakfast, you will start your journey to Lake Manyara National Park, a jewel of Northern Tanzania celebrated for its stunning landscapes and incredible biodiversity. You will enjoy a final game drive exploring the park’s mix of lush forests, soda lake shores and open savannahs, home to tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, baboons, hippos and thousands of flamingos that often turn the lake pink.
