Materuni waterfalls & Chemka Hotspring
Route: Arusha → Materuni Village → Chemka Hot Springs → Arusha
Start your adventure with a short drive from Arusha to Materuni Village, located on the lush slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. This area is home to the Chagga people and offers a mix of culture and nature.
You’ll begin with a guided walk through coffee farms and banana plantations, learning how local coffee is grown, harvested, roasted, and brewed traditionally. Afterward, continue hiking to Materuni Waterfalls, a beautiful cascade surrounded by dense greenery. You can swim in the cool natural pool at the base if you’re up for it.
In the afternoon, head to Chemka Hot Springs (also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs). Despite the name, the water is not hot but crystal-clear and pleasantly warm. It’s an oasis in the middle of semi-arid land, perfect for relaxing, swimming, and unwinding after the morning hike.
Return to Arusha in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Tarangire NP
Tarangire NP
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, about a 2–3 hour drive from Arusha.
Tarangire is famous for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. During your game drive, you’ll likely see elephants up close, as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and possibly predators like lions. The Tarangire River acts as a lifeline for wildlife, especially in the dry season, making animal sightings more concentrated.
Your guide will explain animal behavior, ecosystems, and the significance of the park’s landscape. Picnic lunch is usually enjoyed inside the park at a scenic spot.
In the late afternoon, you’ll transfer and have an overnight stay at your accommodation.

Day 3
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
On your final day, depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most unique wildlife destinations.
The crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and acts as a natural enclosure for wildlife. As you descend into the crater, you’ll enter a stunning landscape filled with grasslands, swamps, and a soda lake.
This is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino), with a high chance of spotting the endangered black rhino. The dense wildlife population makes game viewing exceptional even in a single day.
Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, then continue your game drive before ascending the crater and heading back to Arusha in the late afternoon or evening.
