The mokoro trail in the Okavango Delta typically starts from Maun and provides an immersive wilderness experience on remote islands accessible only by traditional dugout canoe.
You are typically picked up in Maun and transferred to Mokoro station by open side 4x4 safari vehicle. You then board a mokoro, guided by an experienced poler, and navigate to a secluded island camp. Daily activities, Peaceful glides through reed-lined channels to spot wildlife like hippos, crocodiles, and Red lechews, guided walks on islands to track larger game such as elephants, zebras, and lechwe. Possible sightings of lions and wild dogs. Dinner served at the campsite around a campfire for storytelling.

Day 4-6
Khwai Reserve
Khwai Reserve
Khwai offers immersive mokoro trails and night drives. Night drives use spotlights to find nocturnal wildlife like genets and civets, while day activities include game drives in the wildlife-rich concession, intimate sightings of birds, hippos, and smaller wildlife, often paired with walking safaris on nearby islands, it also allows off-road offering a chance to see predators like lions, leopards and hyenas very close. The Khwai Concession borders the Moremi Game Reserve, providing a perfect blend of land-based and water-based safari experiences. On our 3 nights stay here, we do the game drives, mokors, bush walks and night drives. Our sundown's always ends with a glass of wine in hand, story telling at dinner time.
