Day 2

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your personal safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Arusha and begin the journey to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you will travel across the beautiful Maasai plains dotted with acacia trees and may spot Maasai herders in their colourful traditional attire tending cattle or riding bicycles and donkey carts.

Tarangire is famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds, offering incredible wildlife viewing opportunities. During the game drive, you will explore the park’s vast savannah, seasonal swamps, and the life-giving Tarangire River while searching for zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and many other animals. With luck, you may also spot lions hunting or leopards resting in the trees.

After an unforgettable day of wildlife encounters and breathtaking scenery, you will drive to your comfortable mid-range lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will depart for the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Although the journey is long, it is filled with breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable scenery along the way. As you enter the Serengeti, you will quickly understand why its name means “endless plains” in the local Maasai language. Vast golden savannahs stretch as far as the eye can see, creating one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.

Covering nearly 18,000 square kilometers, the Serengeti is home to the spectacular Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. The park also offers incredible opportunities to spot predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas in their natural habitat. Many famous wildlife documentaries and dramatic river crossing scenes have been filmed here, making every game drive an unforgettable safari experience.

Today, you will wake up early for a magical sunrise game drive in Serengeti National Park, one of the best times to witness the African wilderness come to life. After a warm cup of coffee, you will set out across the dew-covered plains as predators return from hunting and herbivores begin their day. The early morning light creates breathtaking scenery and excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.

Later, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast in the heart of the park followed by more game viewing as you continue exploring the endless Serengeti plains. After lunch, you will proceed with another exciting game drive while heading toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other incredible animals along the way.

Rise and shine! After an early breakfast, you will depart for the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the crater offers one of the best wildlife viewing experiences in Tanzania.
Upon arrival at the crater rim, you will descend 600 meters into the vast caldera for an unforgettable game drive. The crater floor is home to more than 25,000 animals, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. You will also discover beautiful landscapes featuring grasslands, forests, swamps, and a soda lake filled with colorful birdlife.
After enjoying an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will continue to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive to your final destination on this epic safari Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake.

It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees.

The park is known for its diverse landscapes, not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs. After lunch, you will head back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the late afternoon and take your flight to Zanzibar.

After breakfast at around 7:30 am, you will be picked up by your guide. You'll enjoy the ride to the island on a traditional dhow. You will learn how this small island gained its name and explore the place that is home to more than 50 tortoises, some over 100 years old. After discovering the island and its history, you'll take the opportunity to swim in the clear waters off the coast amongst tropical and colourful fish.

Later, you will proceed with the Spice Tour which takes 3 hours. You will be privileged to learn about tropical fruits, spices and herbs, and a few of the uncommon types of different plants from various vegetation.

On the tour, you can also hopefully see spices such as curry, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper, tamarind, ginger, menthol, Zanzibar cloves, and numerous different spices and herbs offered by the Sultan of Oman over the Indian Ocean. Later, you will be taken to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
