Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Your safari guide will pick you up early in the morning from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) before departing for Lake Naivasha. Along the way, stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking panoramic views and photography opportunities of one of Africa’s most dramatic landscapes.

Arrive at your lodge in time for check-in and lunch before enjoying an afternoon boat safari across the peaceful waters of Lake Naivasha. Accompanied by a local expert, you’ll search for some of the lake’s 400 bird species including pelicans, herons, and saddle-billed storks. After the boat ride, continue to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, where you can enjoy a guided walking safari among freely roaming giraffes, zebras, and antelope.

Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight relaxation.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart Lake Naivasha and travel south toward the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The scenic drive through Maasai countryside and rolling savannah plains takes approximately five hours.

Upon arrival, check in at Zebra Plains Mara Camp or a similar mid-range safari camp and enjoy lunch featuring local and international cuisine. Later, embark on your first afternoon game drive in the reserve, searching for lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalo, cheetahs, elephants, and numerous plains game species.

After an exciting afternoon safari, return to camp for dinner and overnight while enjoying the sounds of the African wilderness.

Full Day Masai Mara Safari Experience

Begin the day with an early breakfast before departing for a full-day game drive in the spectacular Masai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is home to the legendary Big Five and is considered one of the richest wildlife ecosystems in Africa.

Throughout the day, explore diverse habitats ranging from open savannahs and acacia woodlands to riverine forests. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the Mara River or within the savannah while observing wildlife in their natural environment. During the migration season from July to October, you may witness the dramatic movement of wildebeests and zebras crossing the Mara ecosystem.

Later in the evening, return to Zebra Plains Mara Camp for dinner and overnight relaxation.

Masai Mara to Nairobi
