Day 1

Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara

We will pick you up from your Hotel in Arusha around 8.00am and start your adventure journeying across the Great Rift Valley for a full day game drive in Lake Manyara. The park has breathtaking scenery and is famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and mahogany trees. You will see the fast growing population of cheeky baboons and blue monkeys as well as giraffes, elephants, impalas and a huge amount of buffaloes, Lake Manyara is also home to a large number of hippos. Don’t forget to look up for the tree climbing lions. The landscapes of Lake Manyara are so picturesque and the game drives along the lake provide stunning photo opportunities. Always keep you camera poised and ready as you just never know what is around the corner.

Descend Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti

After an early breakfast we begin our descent to the crater floor. This is when the animals are most active as they hunt for their breakfast and the sunlight on the crater is simply beautiful. As you descend into the crater have your cameras ready as this is one of the most magnificent views you will ever see. Best to descend first light as your photos will truly capture its beauty. It is one of the rare locations where you may witness the black Rhino. The crater spreads for 102 sq. miles and has 2.000 feet high walls, a small river, several swamps, a soda lake with a concentration of flamingos, and a forest and open plains. Perhaps you'll enjoy your picnic lunch by the hippo pools. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World, and as such a UNESCO world heritage site. It is the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet.

After the crater we make our way into the Serengeti, a long drive but a spectacular one, as you pass the many Maasi Villages, and more wildlife.

Serengeti National Park game drive

Serengeti National Park game drive

We will make the most of our time in the Serengeti, getting up early to enjoy a morning game drive, seeking out the Predators. The landscape is wild and raw, with vast plains and savannanhs, rocky outcrops and boababs all paint a distinct picture. Take lunch and stay out all day for the best opportunity to see the Big 5.

The Serengeti has something to offer all year round and is home to the spectacular wildebeest migration. Take time just to soak up the serenity and the enormity of Tanzania's natural treasure. Serengeti means endless plains in the local language and is 18,000 sq kms. The Serengeti horizon is constant as you drive along the dirt roads, and one valley becomes another and another as you rumble along spotting game. The Circle of life is the reality of the Serengeti and is both harmonious but brutal at the same time. Survival is the aim. After a day in the Serengeti you will soon hear the sound of silence, until the animals roar once more. Every day is a different day!

Day 4

Serengeti to Tarangire National Park

Serengeti to Tarangire National Park

An early morning game drive as we leave the Serengeti, again tuning in to the natural rythms of animal activity. The sunrises in the Serengeti are also worth getting up early for! We then journey onto Tarangire National Park which is the third largest national park in Tanzania and is home for an anundance of elephant herds. It is one of our favourite Parks.
Majestic baobab trees are a magical feature of the park, providing sanctuary for many magnificent colourful birds and so tall in stature they make the animals beneath them look small. All the Animals congregate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area, to drink and bathe. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, monkeys, and a numerous variety of birds. Enjoy your evening drinks known as sundowners looking over the Tarangire River. The perfect backdrop for stunning pics.

Day 5

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is different again and will provide many a scenic photo opportunity. It is in the Manyara region and named after the river that runs through it. This water source means an abundance of animals even in the dryer months.

Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, an incredible sight. Watching these families and the hierarchy within play out really is humbling, they are simply majestic. Be sure to look up to spot the big cats, sleeping in the trees, limbs hanging over the branches, especially after a satisfying feed. The vegetation of swamplands, grasslands and baobab trees is distinct to this area. This Park is one of our favourites and a beautiful place to conclude your game driving.

The time has now come to make our way back to Arusha. We are sure a little piece of Tanzania will stay with you forever.
