Upon your arrival in Arusha from Zanzibar, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Tarangire National Park for an unforgettable safari experience.
Tarangire is a land of remarkable wildlife, where majestic elephants roam freely across the vast plains, lions command the wilderness, and zebras contribute their distinctive calls to the rhythm of the wild. During the dry season, the park becomes home to one of the largest concentrations of elephants in the world, making it a must-visit destination on any Northern Tanzania safari.
The park is also famous for its ancient baobab trees, impressive termite mounds, and sweeping landscapes of grassy savannahs and peaceful swamps. After an early breakfast, you will depart for an unforgettable journey to Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most extraordinary natural wonders. This magnificent crater, formed nearly three million years ago after a massive volcanic eruption and collapse, is the largest intact volcanic caldera on Earth.
The Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for hosting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, including the iconic Big Five and an impressive variety of predators. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Centre World Heritage Site, the crater offers a truly remarkable safari experience unlike anywhere else in the world.
As you descend into the crater, you’ll enter a breathtaking landscape filled with abundant wildlife roaming across open plains, forests, and shimmering lakes. The towering crater walls rise between 400 and 610 meters above the crater floor, enclosing an area of approximately 264 square kilometers with a diameter of about 19 kilometers.
