Addis Ababa to Awash National Park

Depart early from Addis Ababa and drive east through the scenic Rift Valley landscapes. Arrive at Awash National Park in time for lunch and a short rest at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive to spot oryx, gazelles, baboons, and crocodiles along the Awash River. End the day with sunset views over the savannah and overnight inside the park.

Awash National Park

Start the morning with an early safari drive when wildlife activity is at its best. Visit the beautiful Awash Falls and explore the hot spring areas surrounded by palm trees and acacia woodland. The park is excellent for birdwatching, with ostriches, hornbills, and many raptors commonly seen. Return to the lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening under the stars.

Awash to Lake Langano

After breakfast, drive south through Ethiopia’s Great Rift Valley toward Lake Langano. Enjoy scenic views of lakes, rural villages, and volcanic landscapes along the way. Arrive at the lakeside resort in the afternoon and spend time relaxing beside the water. In the evening, watch hippos and water birds while enjoying the peaceful sunset atmosphere.

Lake Langano to Bale Mountains National Park

Leave Lake Langano after breakfast and continue toward the Bale Mountains region. The journey passes through highland scenery, farms, and traditional Oromo villages before reaching the park headquarters near Dinsho. Take a short guided walk to observe mountain nyala, bushbuck, and warthogs in the forest area. Enjoy the cool mountain climate and overnight at a lodge in the national park.
