Day 2

Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Kinigi Musanze in Rwanda

Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Kinigi Musanze in Rwanda

You will enjoy a city tour around Kigali visiting 2-3 of places like the Nyandungu Eco park, the Gisozi genocide memorial museum, the Kigali convention centre, the Nyamirambo women’s centre
Thereafter transfer to Kinigi in Musanze for an overnight and preparation for Golden monkey tracking the next morning in the Volcanoes national park.

Have an early morning breakfast and depart your hotel in Musanze for Kinigi Volcanoes park head quarters at 6:30am Kigali Time to be ready for briefing at the park head quarters by 07:00am.
Your driver guide will drop you at the starting point after briefing to start off your Golden monkey tracking experience in the Virunga mountains.
Hiking takes 2-4 hours and you are allowed 1 hour observed the golden monkeys once you locate them during the hike.
Later return to the base to be picked by your guide to return to your lodge for a hot lunch.
Transfer later in the afternoon to Bwindi forest national park through Cyanika border enjoying the beautiful views of the towering Virunga mountains from the road.
Arrive in Bwindi forest in the evening to check in and have some rest.

Day 4

Batwa cultural experience, village walk and coffee experience

Batwa cultural experience, village walk and coffee experience

You will have an afternoon Batwa community visit to experience the forest life of the Batwa (Pygmy people).

During the 2-hour experience, you will learn about the Batwa history and their eviction from the forests in the early 1990s. Before their removal, the Batwa livelihoods solely depended on the forest economy, mainly through hunting and fruit gathering.

The Batwa community experience offers a glimpse into this marginalized community’s historical lifestyles from the perspective of village life. The community experience will showcase cultural norms, singing, dancing and coffee making experience.
The revenue raised from the community tour goes directly to support the livelihood needs of the Batwa households.

Day 5

Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi forest

Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi forest

You will have an early morning breakfast and thereafter be transferred by your driver guide to the park headquarters where park rangers will brief you about the regulations for gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park and also you will be divided into a group of 8 visitors. You will be led by a ranger and a team of researchers to start trekking of these gentle giants. After you encounter these gentle giants, you are allowed to spend six hours together with researchers and trackers as you study and observe these magnificent mountain gorillas close up in their natural habitat.
Principally hikers will love the trek in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. But overall, this will be a unique and unforgettable experience!
After the gorilla habituation, you will be given a certificate for succeeding a gorilla trek in Uganda/bwindi then transfer back to your lodge.

Have breakfast at your lodge and prepare to go on a nature walk to the forest, visit the Kanyanyondo waterfalls in Rushaga.
The forest walk and community visit to the falls takes 3-4 hours.
Return to your lodge to check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You will have a morning canoe/boat island visit to explore some of the 29 islands of Lake Bunyonyi.
The boat island visit takes 2-3 hours as you soak in the breeze from Lake Bunyonyi.
Check out of your lodge for transfer to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park through Ruhiija – Buhoma sector of Bwindi.
The road transfer will take 3-4 hours depending on the weather.

Have an early morning breakfast and head out for a morning game drive in the vast Ishasha wilderness. This is a common place for spotting lions lying up in trees as the day heats up. Explore the banks of the Rivers from Ishasha to Ntungwe and the shores of Lake Edward.
Proceed from Ishasha to Kazinga channel in the afternoon as you head for an overnight at the Mweya Peninsula.

You will wake up at 6:00 and have breakfast by 6:30am. And transfer to Kyambura gorge for briefing as you prepare for chimpanzee trekking.
Join other visitors and start the walk down the gorge in search of chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking takes 1-4 hours and you spend an hour with the chimpanzees.
Return to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon rest.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a late afternoon game drive. During the game drive, you will drive via the various channel tracks in search of Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, antelopes and several bird life.

The drive from Queen Elizabeth to Entebbe is an 8-9 hours drive. You will have a stopover at the equator crossing point in Kayabwe to relax, take photos and have a lunch break before proceeding to the airport.
