Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide and begin your scenic journey to Kibale National Park, home to Uganda’s famous chimpanzees and lush tropical rainforest. The drive takes you through beautiful countryside landscapes, local villages, tea plantations, and rolling hills with several opportunities for photography and short refreshment stops along the way. Day 2
Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi community experience
Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi community experience
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing before beginning the exciting chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by experienced park rangers, walk through the tropical rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzees while also spotting other primates, birds, and forest wildlife along the way. Once the chimpanzees are located, spend a memorable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Later, enjoy a visit to the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a community and nature experience, where you will learn about local traditions, wetlands conservation, birdlife, and village life. After breakfast, depart Kibale National Park and continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse wildlife destinations. Enjoy scenic views of crater lakes, rolling hills, local villages, and the Rwenzori mountain ranges along the way. Upon arrival in the park, check in at your lodge and relax before heading out for an evening game drive in search of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, and other wildlife as the sun sets across the savannah plains. After lunch and some relaxation at the lodge, head out for an afternoon boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel, known for its large concentration of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and diverse birdlife along the shores. Depending on your schedule, there may be time for a short city tour, local craft shopping, or a cultural stop in Kigali at an additional cost. You will then be transferred to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your unforgettable East African primate and wildlife adventure.
