Addis Ababa – Awash National Park

Early morning departure from Addis Ababa and drive east through the scenic Rift Valley landscapes toward Awash National Park. Along the way, enjoy excellent opportunities to photograph local villages, dramatic landscapes, birdlife, and the traditional pastoral life of the region.
After lunch, begin your first wildlife photography session inside the park. You will embark on an exciting game drive through Awash’s diverse ecosystems, including open savannahs, acacia woodlands, volcanic scenery, and riverine habitats.
Common wildlife sightings include Beisa oryx, Soemmerring’s gazelle, warthogs, olive baboons, and crocodiles along the Awash River and waterfalls.
Awash is also a paradise for bird photography, with excellent chances to photograph hornbills, bee-eaters, kingfishers, secretary birds, ostriches, and a variety of raptors.

Overnight: Camping inside the park.

Wildlife Photography Safari -Awash National Park

Early morning game drive for the best wildlife photography light conditions. Capture stunning sunrise landscapes, wildlife behavior, and active birdlife around water sources.

Possible wildlife sightings include: Beisa oryx, Lesser kudu, Salt’s dik-dik, Grivet monkeys, Hamadryas baboons, Crocodiles

After lunch, continue exploring different sections of the park before driving to Doho Lodge.

After check-in at Doho Lodge, enjoy an afternoon golden-hour photography session around the lodge area, which offers excellent opportunities for photographing some of Ethiopia’s beautiful bird species. Common sightings may include: Abyssinian roller, White-bellied go-away bird, Scarlet-chested sunbird, Red-cheeked cordon-bleu, Superb starling, African grey hornbill, Little bee-eater

The peaceful setting and natural surroundings of Doho Lodge create ideal conditions for bird and landscape photography.

Awash – Addis Ababa

Enjoy an early morning bird and wildlife photography session before breakfast, taking advantage of the soft morning light and active wildlife.

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Addis Ababa with additional stops along the way for scenic photography, birdwatching, and cultural encounters. Arrive in Addis Ababa in the late afternoon.
