Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your day will begin either from the pick up from airport or hotel from Nairobi, driving down the dramatic escarpment of the Great Rift Valley in your heavy-duty 4x4 Land Cruiser. You will journey onward through the bustling market town of Narok to reach the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve by lunchtime. After settling into your lodge or tented camp, you will embark on your first afternoon game drive. The pop-up roof of your Land Cruiser offers an elevated, 360-degree viewpoint as you search the sweeping golden grasslands for the Big Five—lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. You will return to your accommodation as the African sun dips below the horizon for dinner and your first night under the stars.

Fulltime exploring Masai Mara

The second day is entirely dedicated to a full-day immersive exploration of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Setting out early with packed picnic lunches, your 4x4 vehicle will allow you to traverse rugged, off-beaten tracks and remote areas like the Mara River, where crocodiles and hippos wallow. Because your heavy-duty vehicle handles the bumpy terrain smoothly, you can spend hours following predator action, tracking resident lion prides, or witnessing the sprawling herds of wildebeest and zebras. By spending the whole day in the bush, you get to witness the ecosystem transition from morning activity to noon rest, capped off with a scenic picnic lunch right in the heart of the savanna before heading back for evening relaxation.

On the third day, you will enjoy an early breakfast before exiting the reserve and navigating north toward the Great Rift Valley floor. Your rugged Land Cruiser easily handles the transit over to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for check-in and lunch at your new lodge. In the afternoon, you will head out around the shores of the beautiful soda lake. Lake Nakuru is a highly compact, high-density sanctuary, making it exceptionally rewarding for spotting both black and white rhinoceroses alongside majestic Rothschild's giraffes. You will also get to observe vast flocks of pelicans and seasonal pink flamingos gathering at the water's edge before returning to camp for your final evening meal.
