Begin with an early breakfast, then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing by expert trackers. Enter the misty forest following trails used by mountain gorillas. Trekking can last several hours through steep, dense vegetation. Upon finding the gorilla family, you are allowed one breathtaking hour in their presence – observing playful juveniles, silverback dominance, and tender mothering. After descending, if time permits, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for traditional dancing, drumming, and storytelling about local life coexisting with gorillas. Return to lodge for dinner.

An early morning breakfast drive to the park offices for the briefing, and head for Diane Fossy’s monumental area where you will explore and learn about her endeavors to start the conservation journey of mountain Gorillas before she was killed by poachers. Later we start the journey to Kigali.
