Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and have lunch before proceeding for the exciting Iby’Iwacu Cultural Experience, where you will interact with the local community and learn about Rwanda’s traditional culture, music, dance, and way of life. After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before beginning the exciting golden monkey trekking experience. Venture into the bamboo forests at the foothills of the Virunga Mountains in search of these playful and energetic primates known for their striking golden-orange fur and lively movements through the forest. Spend time observing and photographing them in their natural habitat while enjoying the beauty of the rainforest surroundings. After the trekking experience, return to the lodge for lunch before beginning the scenic transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda through the Cyanika border. Enjoy stunning views of hills, local villages, and terraced landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Bwindi, you may choose to relax at the lodge or take part in an optional Batwa cultural experience to learn about the traditional forest life of the indigenous Batwa community. Wake up early for breakfast before heading to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers about gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines. Afterwards, begin the unforgettable trek through the dense rainforest in search of a mountain gorilla family. The experience can take a few hours depending on the movement of the gorillas, but the journey through the forest is rewarding with opportunities to spot birds, butterflies, and other wildlife species. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat as they feed, play, and interact with one another. This close encounter with the gentle giants is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife experiences. En route, you will pass through the famous Ishasha sector, well known for its rare tree-climbing lions that are often seen resting in fig trees, an exciting opportunity for a game drive and photography if lucky. Continue your journey northwards while enjoying sightings of antelopes, elephants, and other wildlife along the route. Arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon and check in at your lodge. After an early breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring the vast Kasenyi plains in search of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, lions, warthogs, and other wildlife species. The open savannah offers excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing as predators and herbivores roam freely in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before heading for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. During the cruise, enjoy close sightings of hippos, Nile crocodiles, buffaloes along the shoreline, and a variety of bird species such as kingfishers, fish eagles, and pelicans. After the boat experience, depart Queen Elizabeth and continue your scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park, passing through beautiful crater lakes and lush countryside landscapes. The diverse ecosystem provides rewarding photography moments as animals roam freely across the golden grasslands. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before heading out for an afternoon boat cruise along the Victoria Nile. Enjoy a guided walking experience as you track white rhinos on foot in their natural habitat, learning about conservation efforts aimed at restoring Uganda’s rhino population. After this unique wildlife encounter, continue your drive through scenic countryside, roadside markets, and small towns along the Kampala–Gulu highway. Enjoy a lunch stop along the way before proceeding to Entebbe International Airport.
