Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or airport, where your guide welcomes you and gives a short briefing. Travel southwest toward the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations. Stop at the Great Rift Valley Escarpment for scenic views and photography before continuing through Narok as the landscape opens into vast savannah plains.

Arrive at your lodge or tented camp for check-in and lunch. Later, head out for your first afternoon game drive across the Masai Mara in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas, and other wildlife species. As the sun sets over the plains, return to camp for dinner and overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Explore grasslands, acacia woodlands, and riverine areas where hippos and crocodiles are found along the Mara River. During migration season (July–October), witness wildebeests and zebras crossing the plains with predators following. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing afternoon game drives. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight relaxation.

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Enjoy breakfast while taking in your final views of the Mara plains before checking out of camp. Depending on wildlife activity and departure timing, enjoy a short en-route game drive as you leave the reserve, giving one final opportunity to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, or perhaps a predator beginning its day.

Begin the scenic return journey to Nairobi through Maasai countryside and the Great Rift Valley landscapes, stopping briefly for refreshments or photographs along the way. Arrive back in Nairobi in the afternoon where your memorable Kenya safari tour comes to an end, leaving you with unforgettable wildlife memories and photographs.
