Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your Kilipath African Safaris guide will pick you up from your accommodation and begin the journey to Tarangire National Park, approximately two and a half hours from Arusha. Famous for its large elephant herds, majestic baobab trees, and diverse wildlife, Tarangire offers an incredible introduction to Tanzania’s safari experience.

The Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline, attracts a wide variety of animals, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and antelopes. Predators such as lions and leopards are also frequently spotted. The park is equally renowned for its rich birdlife, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by stunning natural scenery. After an exciting afternoon game drive, you will continue to your campsite near Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti National Park, traveling through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to stop at the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint and enjoy one of Africa’s most spectacular panoramas before continuing your journey into the Serengeti.

Known as the "Endless Plains," Serengeti National Park is renowned for its vast savannahs, abundant wildlife, and exceptional game-viewing opportunities. The park is home to the world-famous Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the season, you may have the chance to witness this remarkable natural phenomenon.

After enjoying a picnic lunch en route, you will continue with game viewing as you make your way to your campsite, where you will spend the night surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

After breakfast, you will depart for the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying scenic wildlife viewing along the way. Upon arrival, you will descend 600 meters into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exceptional concentration of wildlife.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder, featuring open grasslands, acacia forests, freshwater springs, and seasonal wetlands.
During your game drive on the crater floor, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, buffaloes, and elephants, along with an impressive variety of birdlife. The crater is also one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino in its natural habitat.

After a rewarding afternoon of wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch, you will ascend from the crater and continue to your campsite near Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
