Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe by your professional driver-guide. Journey west through Uganda's scenic countryside, passing rolling hills, lush tea plantations, traditional villages, and vibrant local markets. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you travel toward Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda's premier primate destination and home to the highest concentration of primates in East Africa.
After a lunch stop en route, continue to the Kibale region, set against the backdrop of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, famously known as the "Mountains of the Moon." Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the spectacular Crater Lakes area, renowned for its breathtaking scenery, volcanic lakes, and panoramic viewpoints. You will also have an opportunity to experience the local culture and interact with nearby communities. After an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, venture into the lush tropical forest in search of habituated chimpanzees. As you trek through the forest, keep an eye out for other primates, colorful bird species, and unique flora. Once the chimpanzees are located, spend an hour observing their fascinating behavior as they feed, groom, communicate, & move through the forest canopy.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before beginning your scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through breathtaking landscapes of rolling hills, terraced farmlands offering spectacular views of southwestern Uganda. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on the highlight of your safari—mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Accompanied by experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority guides, trek through the rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek may take between 2 and 6 hours, but the reward of encountering these gentle giants in their natural habitat is truly unforgettable. Spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact.
After the experience, enjoy your packed lunch before departing for the scenic Lake Bunyonyi, known as the "Switzerland of Africa." Surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with islands, the lake offers a perfect place to relax and unwind.
