Your adventure begins early as you are picked up from Kigali and embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to the eastern edge of Akagera National Park. After registration at the southern gate, you will start your morning Akagera National Park Safari tracking giraffes, zebras, and elephants through the sweeping savannah plains. Stop for lunch at a designated picnic site, then head directly to Lake Ihema for an afternoon boat safari. Gliding along the water, you will observe massive hippo pods and basking crocodiles, plus abundant waterbirds like the African fish eagle. You will conclude the evening with a brief game drive while heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
