1-Day Tsavo East - Big 5 Safari Mombasa

5:00 AM – Pickup from Mombasa Early morning pickup from your Mombasa hotel and drive northwest to Tsavo East National Park. The drive takes 2.5 hours. Arrive at the Bachuma Gate and start your morning game drive right away. Tsavo East is known as “The Theatre of the Wild” – vast open plains, red earth, and scattered acacia trees make wildlife easy to spot. Cover the park’s main circuits around the Aruba Dam and Voi River. Keep an eye out for Tsavo’s famous red elephants, lion prides, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, ostrich, and gerenuk. With luck you may see cheetah, leopard, or fringe-eared oryx. Your guide will track wildlife and share stories about the park’s history, including the “Man-Eaters of Tsavo”. Continue exploring different areas of the park. Afternoon light is great for photography and predators become more active. Exit the Park Leave Tsavo East through Bachuma Gate and begin the drive back to Mombasa.
6:30 PM – Drop-off in Mombasa Arrive back at your hotel, port, or airport.
