Nairobi - Mount Kenya

Pick up in Nairobi early in the morning and drive to the Mount Kenya region, arriving at Sirimon Gate after registration and briefing by your mountain guide. Begin your trek through the dense montane forest where you may spot colobus monkeys, bushbucks, and a variety of bird species. The trail gradually ascends through bamboo and heath vegetation zones, offering spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. Arrive at the camp in the afternoon where you will relax, enjoy a hot meal and acclimatize to the altitude.

Full day in Mount Kenya

After an early breakfast, continue trekking through the Mackinder Valley, one of Mount Kenya's most scenic landscapes. The trail passes through moorland covered with giant lobelias and groundsels unique to East Africa's alpine environment. Enjoy magnificent views of the towering peaks of Batian and Nelion as you gain altitude. Stop for lunch along the route before proceeding to shimpton's camp located beneath the dramatic summit peaks. Spend the evening resting and acclimatizing in preparation for the summit attempt.

Full day in Mount Kenya

After having an early breakfast, begin the summit trek. The climb to Point Lenana is challenging but rewarding. Arrive at the summit in time to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Kenyan plains with views stretching towards Mount Kilimanjaro on clear mornings. After celebrating your achievements and taking photographs, descend back to the camp then later continue descending via the scenic Chogoria route, enjoying stunning views of the Gorges Valley.

Mount Kenya - Nairobi

After breakfast, begin the descent through beautiful alpine terrain towards Chogoria gate. Along the way enjoy views of Lake Ellis, waterfalls, valleys and lush forests. Upon reaching the gate, meet your driver and start your journey back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. This marks the end of your incredible Mount Kenya Camping Adventure.
