Pick Up from Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport in Kigali. Meet your professional driver-guide and embark on a scenic drive through Rwanda's picturesque countryside, famously known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills."

Enjoy breathtaking views of rolling hills, rural villages, and lush green landscapes as you travel towards the Uganda-Rwanda border. After completing immigration formalities, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the afternoon.

Check in at your lodge and spend the remainder of the day relaxing while preparing for the exciting gorilla trekking experience ahead. You may also enjoy stunning views of the surrounding forest and local communities.

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. During the briefing, you will receive important information about gorilla trekking regulations and be assigned a habituated gorilla family to visit.

Begin your trek into the dense rainforest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement and location of the gorilla family. As you hike through the forest, your guide will help identify various wildlife species, birds, and unique plants found within the park.

Upon locating the gorillas, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch as they feed, groom, play, and interact with one another—a truly life-changing wildlife encounter.

After the trek, receive your gorilla trekking certificate and begin the drive back to Kigali.
