Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or residence early in the morning and enjoy a scenic drive through the central Kenya highlands, with breathtaking views of Mount Kenya along the way. Pass through changing landscapes as you head north toward Samburu. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge or camp, followed by a short rest to prepare for your afternoon adventure. In the late afternoon, set out on your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River, the lifeline of the reserve. Spot large herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope species. Samburu is also famous for the unique Samburu Special Five, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx offering a truly special wildlife experience in northern Kenya.
