Day 1

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL), you will be met by your safari guide. Your adventure begins with a Kigali City Tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Local markets, and the city's clean and vibrant streets.

After lunch, you will begin your scenic drive to Uganda. You will cross the border at Cyanika or Katuna, a modern One-Stop Border Post. The drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes approximately 4-5 hours

Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi Forest and check in.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

This is the day you have been waiting for! After an early breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing. Then, you will enter the "impenetrable" forest with expert guides to search for a family of endangered mountain gorillas.

The trek can take from 2 to 8 hours and requires moderate fitness, but when you finally find the gorillas, you will be able to spend one hour with them as they eat, play, and care for their young. The experience is truly a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounter.

Return to the lodge to celebrate and have lunch. Afterwards, you will begin a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park (approx. 4-5 hours).

Day 3

Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park

After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. You'll have a good chance to spot herds of zebra, impala, topi, and the mighty eland. Lake Mburo is also one of the best places in Uganda to see the elusive leopard.

Relax at your lodge. You can also opt for a guided nature walk or a boat safari on Lake Mburo to see hippos and crocodiles.

If you wish, go on a night game drive (approx. 1.5-2 hours) to search for nocturnal wildlife like bushbabies, porcupines, and even leopards.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP and Afternoon Game Drive

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP and Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 3-4 hours).

You will drive through the Ishasha sector of the park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. These unique lions rest in fig trees, a behavior seen in very few places in Africa. Your guide will help you search for them as you make your way to your lodge.

Rise early for a game drive when wildlife is most active. Your guide will look for lions, elephants, buffalos, and if you are very lucky, a leopard.

After lunch, you will enjoy a 2-hour boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. This wide channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George, and the boat cruise brings you incredibly close to a huge concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and water birds like the African fish eagle and kingfishers.

Enjoy a second morning game drive if you wish, or depart after breakfast for the scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park (approx. 2-3 hours).

The drive takes you through beautiful crater lakes and lush tea plantations. After check-in at your lodge, you can relax or go on a nature walk to explore the area's unique crater lakes.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then enter the forest with expert ranger guides to track the chimpanzees. Once you find them, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these amazing primates in the wild

After the trek, you will return to your lodge for lunch. Optionally after lunch, you can be taken for a local brewery making experience or a Bigodi wetland tour, subject to prior information. Otherwise, relax and dinner at the lodge.

Wake up to a morning breakfast. After breakfast, set off for a long drive to Kigali. This usually takes between 7 to 8 hours of drive including border crossings. During this long drive, feel free to let the guide know if you want stops for photos.
