Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Kigali. Set off to Bwindi through the scenic hills of Kigezi as you approach Uganda -Rwanda's border, Katuna.
Upon arrival in Bwindi, you will check in at your mid-range lodge located close to the gorilla trekking headquarters. Enjoy a delicious lunch before spending the rest of the day resting and preparing for tomorrow's trek. Your guide will provide a full briefing on the trekking rules and what to expect.

Day 2
Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali
Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the Bwindi park headquarters for registration and a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers
You will then be assigned a gorilla family and begin your guided trek into the dense "impenetrable" forest. Trek Duration: Anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas' location. The terrain can be steep and muddy, so reasonable fitness is helpful.
The Gorilla Encounter: Once the gorilla family is located, you will be allowed to spend one full hour observing them as they feed, play, care for their young, and rest. This is a truly life‑changing wildlife experience. Remember to turn off your camera flash and maintain a respectful distance.
Return from Trek: After your hour with the gorillas, you will will receive your gorilla trekking certificate, and set off immediately for Kigali. Reach Kigali and either get taken to the airport or your hotel.
