Day 2

Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar

After breakfast, take a morning flight to Bahir Dar, one of Ethiopia's most beautiful lakeside cities situated on the southern shores of Lake Tana.

After lunch, enjoy a boat excursion on Lake Tana, Ethiopia's largest lake and the source of the Blue Nile River. The lake contains numerous islands and peninsulas that house ancient monasteries preserving priceless religious manuscripts, crowns, and sacred artifacts.

Visit:

Ura Kidane Mihret Monastery – One of the most important monasteries on Lake Tana, renowned for its magnificent circular church, colorful murals, and rich collection of religious treasures.

Day 3

Bahir Dar – Gondar

After breakfast, drive through the scenic Ethiopian highlands to the historic city of Gondar, often referred to as the "Camelot of Africa."

Founded by Emperor Fasilides in the 17th century, Gondar served as Ethiopia's imperial capital for over two centuries and remains one of the country's most important historical centers.

Afternoon sightseeing includes:

Visit the remarkable Fasil Ghebbi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing a series of castles and palaces built by successive Ethiopian emperors. The architecture uniquely combines Ethiopian, Portuguese, and Indian influences.

Explore the famous Fasilides' Bath, a ceremonial bathing pool still used today during the annual Timkat (Epiphany) celebrations.
