Transfer from Entebbe/Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Your guide will meet you in Entebbe or Kampala early in the morning for a private transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, one of Uganda’s most celebrated wildlife destinations and home to the highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, passing through scenic countryside, tea plantations, and rural communities.

You will arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and have the remainder of the day to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings as you prepare for the chimpanzee trekking experience scheduled for the following day.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest & Bigodi Wetland Walk

After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then enter the forest in search of Kibale’s habituated chimpanzees. The park is renowned for its rich biodiversity and supports one of the largest chimpanzee populations in Africa, along with several other primate species, forest birds, and unique flora.

Following your chimpanzee trekking experience, return to the lodge for lunch before heading to the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Accompanied by a local guide, you will explore this community-managed wetland, which is famous for its diverse birdlife, monkeys, butterflies, and indigenous plant species. The walk also provides insight into local conservation and community development initiatives.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Transfer from Kibale Forest to Entebbe/Kampala

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. The drive offers another opportunity to enjoy Uganda’s beautiful landscapes, with a stop for lunch en route.

You will arrive in Entebbe or Kampala later in the afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location, marking the end of your memorable chimpanzee trekking safari in Uganda.
