Day 1

Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Your driver-guide will collect you from your Arusha hotel in the morning for the drive south-west to Tarangire National Park – around two hours, passing through rolling farmland before arriving at the park gates. You enter Tarangire directly and begin game viewing immediately, spending the afternoon exploring what many consider Tanzania's most underrated park.
Tarangire is instantly recognisable for its ancient, enormous baobab trees – some estimated to be over a thousand years old – which stand like great sentinels across the golden grass. The park is outstanding for elephants, with large family herds frequently seen along the Tarangire River, and excellent for all of the northern circuit's key species: lion, giraffe, zebra, buffalo and an impressive array of birdlife.

Day 2

Transfer to Serengeti National park

Transfer to Serengeti National park

After an early start, you will drive north-west from Tarangire towards the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route. Your guide will stop at the crater rim for a panoramic first view down into the caldera – a preview of what awaits on Day 4 – before continuing across the short-grass plains to Naabi Hill and the eastern gateway of Serengeti National Park.
You will never forget the time you spend in the Serengeti. Perhaps it will be a leopard stretched out in the shade of a sausage tree, so close you can hear it breathing. Or an elephant family crossing the road at dusk, so unhurried it is as if the vehicle doesn’t exist. Or the first time you hear a lion roar across the dark plains. Or herds of wildebeest and zebra so vast they seem to move like a river across the landscape. All of these experiences are possible here, in one of the most beautiful parks in Africa.

Main Destination:
Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)
High Season July to March (The Seronera area is crowded)

Day 3

Adventure in the Serengeti National Park

Adventure in the Serengeti National Park

A full day in the Serengeti is a gift. With no need to pack up or move on, your guide can take you deeper into the park's most productive areas and spend real time at each sighting – following a pride of lion for an hour, waiting for a cheetah to move out of the grass, watching a herd of elephant cross from the woodland to the river in their own unhurried time.
The Serengeti rewards patience like few other places. The central zone around Seronera is renowned year-round for its leopard population along the riverine trees, its resident lion prides and its reliable concentrations of plains game. Cheetah, too, favour the open plains of this area, and are frequently spotted scanning the grass from a termite mound.
Depending on the season, you may also encounter the outer edges of the Great Migration herds moving through the central plains. Your guide will keep a close eye on recent movement information and route the day accordingly for the best possible experience.

Day 4

Transfer to Arusha via Ngorongoro

Transfer to Arusha via Ngorongoro

Ngorongoro Crater brings your safari to a magnificent close. After an early breakfast, you drive from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area – the UNESCO World Heritage Site that surrounds and protects this extraordinary natural feature. The crater is the world's largest unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera, with walls rising 600 metres above a floor covering approximately 246 square kilometres.
You will proceed with an early morning descent onto the crater floor. The drive down is an experience in itself, and once on the crater floor you will spend most of the day exploring this dense ecosystem in search of animals that make Ngorongoro one of Africa's finest safari destinations. Black rhino, lion, spotted hyena, elephant and huge herds of buffalo and zebra are all regularly seen alongside flamingos on the central soda lake.
After your crater game drive, you will climb back up to the rim and begin the journey back to Arusha, arriving in time for your onward departure.
