Addis Ababa – Dinsho Bale Mountains Entrance

Depart Addis Ababa and drive southeast through scenic Ethiopian highlands, passing rural villages, farmlands, and mountain landscapes. Arrive in Dinsho, the gateway to Bale Mountains National Park. After check-in, enjoy an afternoon nature walk around park headquarters where you may spot mountain nyala, warthogs, and various endemic bird species. This first day introduces the rich biodiversity of the Bale region and prepares you for higher altitude exploration in the coming days.

Dinsho – Sanetti Plateau Exploration

After breakfast, ascend to the spectacular Sanetti Plateau, one of Africa’s highest continuous plateaus. This area is the best location for observing the rare Ethiopian wolf, the most endangered canid in Africa. Explore the Afro-alpine environment with its vast moorlands, giant lobelias, and unique highland scenery. Spend the day tracking wildlife including giant molerats, birds of prey, and endemic species adapted to extreme altitude conditions.

Sanetti Plateau – Harenna Forest
