From the Mara Plains to Lake Nakuru National Park

From the Mara Plains to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, leave the Masai Mara and drive towards Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most scenic parks in the Great Rift Valley. On arrival, enjoy a game drive on the way to your lodge, reaching the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, continue exploring the park on another game drive. Lake Nakuru is well known for its beautiful lake views, acacia woodland, rocky escarpments and excellent chances to see both black and white rhinos. The park is also home to buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons, lions and a variety of birdlife. This day gives you a beautiful contrast to the open plains of the Mara, with a more compact but very rewarding safari experience.

Start the morning with a final game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, giving you another opportunity to enjoy the park’s wildlife and landscapes in the soft morning light. After the safari, continue to Lake Naivasha, a peaceful freshwater lake surrounded by beautiful Rift Valley scenery. Here, enjoy a scenic boat ride, one of the highlights of the area. During the boat trip, you may see hippos resting in the water, fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers and many other bird species along the lake shore. Lunch will be served at one of the most beautiful hotels on the lake, well known for its charming atmosphere and for the animals that freely roam around its grounds. After lunch, continue your journey back to Nairobi. This final day combines wildlife, lake scenery, a relaxed boat experience and a memorable lakeside lunch before the end of your Kenya safari.
