After breakfast, begin your scenic cross-border journey towards Burundi.
Today’s drive is adventurous and rewarding as you cross both the Rwanda and Tanzania borders before continuing to the Burundi border. While the journey can be a bit long due to border procedures, the changing landscapes, rolling hills, villages, tea plantations, and countryside scenery make the drive incredibly enjoyable.
Your guide will assist throughout the process to ensure the border crossings are as smooth and comfortable as possible.
You will stop for lunch in Gitega, Burundi’s cultural and political capital, where you can enjoy local cuisine and experience the relaxed atmosphere of this historical town.
After lunch, continue to Bujumbura, Burundi’s lively lakeside capital located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, one of the deepest lakes in the world.
