Arrival in Kigoma – Lake Tanganyika Crossing & Mwamgongo Cultural Experience

Upon your arrival at Kigoma Airport or your hotel, our guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Kibirizi Ferry for a scenic boat ride across the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika to Mwamgongo Village, located near the boundaries of Gombe National Park. Here, you'll immerse yourself in the local community by participating in traditional cultural activities, including learning the fascinating process of palm oil extraction. You will also prepare and enjoy a delicious local meal alongside the villagers, offering an authentic taste of the region's rich heritage. In the late afternoon, continue by boat to Gombe National Park, where you'll check in at your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner overlooking the beautiful shores of Lake Tanganyika.

Following breakfast, head back into the forest for your final chimpanzee trekking experience, exploring different chimpanzee groups while learning more about their unique behavior and habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and some leisure time before setting out on a kayaking adventure across the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika. After kayaking, spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing along the lake's sandy shores, soaking up the sun, enjoying a swim, or simply taking in the tranquil atmosphere before returning to the lodge for dinner and your final overnight stay.

Departure – Boat Transfer to Kigoma

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before boarding your scheduled boat back across Lake Tanganyika to Kigoma Town. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you either to your hotel or to Kigoma Airport, depending on your onward travel arrangements, marking the end of your memorable Gombe chimpanzee adventure.
