Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport in the morning for a safari briefing. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a brief Kigali city tour before departing for Uganda. Drive through Rwanda’s scenic rolling hills to the Katuna or Cyanika border and complete immigration formalities before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of terraced hills, local villages, and beautiful countryside. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon or evening, check in, relax, and enjoy dinner as you prepare for the gorilla trekking experience.

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers on gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, enter the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may last between two and six hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once the gorillas are found, spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat as they feed, play, and interact. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and refreshments before beginning the drive back to Kigali. Arrive in Kigali in the evening and transfer to your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
