Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport in the morning for a safari briefing before departing for Uganda. Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills before crossing the Cyanika or Katuna border into Uganda. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing beautiful countryside, local communities, and terraced hillsides. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon or evening and check in. Spend the rest of the day relaxing while enjoying the peaceful forest environment. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge near Bwindi.

Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before starting your gorilla tracking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, enter the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take between two and six hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before transferring to Lake Bunyonyi. Arrive in the evening and enjoy the stunning views of the lake and surrounding hills. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Lake Bunyonyi Boat Ride and Return to Kigali

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing boat or canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, exploring some of its beautiful islands while taking in the spectacular scenery. The lake is surrounded by terraced hills and offers excellent opportunities for photography, bird watching, and cultural encounters with local communities. After the excursion, return to the lodge for lunch and check out. Begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, crossing the Uganda-Rwanda border and enjoying the beautiful landscapes along the way. Arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon or evening and transfer to your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
